Corvallis Vision Center has a long and rich history in Corvallis spanning almost three quarters of a century making it one of the oldest continuously running health care offices in the city. Established in 1931 by Dr. A. W. Marker who also taught physics at Oregon State Agricultural College, Corvallis Vision Center began it's tradition of patient oriented eye care. Dr Roy Clunes, who came to Corvallis Vision Center after Dr Marker's death in 1943, often had to fly from his home in Albany to the old Corvallis airstrip near the present day Beca Avenue because of Willamette River flooding. Joined by Dr. Ross Warren in 1954 the practice continued to grow, being one of the first offices in the state to offer the "new hard contact lenses" |
